Terms of Service

Effective March 30, 2026

1. What this service is

AlfredStar provides a command-line tool (asctl) and cloud infrastructure for authoring, running, and evaluating StarCraft II AI strategies written in ASL (AlfredStar Language). Games run on shared cloud infrastructure managed by AlfredStar.

2. Accounts

You sign in with your Google account. One account per person. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate access at our discretion for violation of these terms or any applicable law.

3. Age requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to use this service.

4. Your content

You own your ASL source code and bot configurations. Game logs and performance data generated by the service are stored on our infrastructure and accessible to you while your account is active.

5. StarCraft II and Blizzard Entertainment

The service uses the StarCraft II API under Blizzard Entertainment's AI and Machine Learning License. Game replays and all in-game data remain the intellectual property of Blizzard Entertainment and are subject to their EULA.

AlfredStar is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Blizzard Entertainment. You agree not to use the service in ways that violate Blizzard's EULA or Machine Learning License.

6. Voluntary support

Games run on shared cloud infrastructure that has real compute costs. After a game, the service may display the estimated cost of that run. You can choose to cover that cost using asctl cover-compute. A recurring monthly option is also available.

Support is entirely voluntary. It does not unlock features, change service behavior, or create any obligation. The only effect of active recurring support is that the per-run cost line is suppressed from command output.

Payments are processed by Stripe. AlfredStar does not store your payment details.

Voluntary support is used to offset infrastructure costs. It is not payment for access to StarCraft II content or Blizzard intellectual property.

7. Acceptable use

You may not:

  • Abuse or interfere with the shared infrastructure
  • Attempt to disrupt other users' games
  • Reverse-engineer the StarCraft II client or API
  • Use the service for anything illegal

8. Agent-mediated interactions

AlfredStar is designed to be used through coding agents. The service exposes structured capability metadata that agents may use to surface information contextually, including support options. These suggestions are informational. You are never required to act on them. Agents present facts provided by the service; they do not invent benefits or frame support as a feature gate.

9. No warranties

The service is provided as-is and as-available. We make no guarantees about uptime, reliability, or that your game will complete without interruption. This is a non-commercial project and resources are shared and finite.

10. Limitation of liability

AlfredStar and its operators are not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of the service, including lost games, corrupted data, or downtime.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated via email with 30 days notice. Continued use after that period constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada.
